North Texas WhistleMania

North Texas Soccer’s annual referee certification event. A great first step for new referees.

What Is WhistleMania?

North Texas Soccer Association hosts WhistleMania once a year. It’s a special event: new referees who complete both the online and in-person sessions receive a uniform kit, which other entry-level clinics don’t include.

It’s a great chance for new referees to get certified and for returning referees to continue growing in the game.

How Certification Works

Online Lessons

New referees complete the required online lessons in the US Soccer Learning system first.

In-Person Field Session

Then attend the in-person field session at WhistleMania.

Age 13 and Older

Anyone age 13 and older can become a referee. Returning referees have their own session.

Why Become a Referee?

Refereeing is a great way to stay involved in soccer, build confidence, learn leadership skills, earn money, and give back to the game.

BAYFA needs more referees to help support our players, coaches, and families each season. If you are 13 or older, this is a great first step.

WhistleMania 4 was held July 18–19, 2026 at Keller Sports Park in Keller. Dates and registration for the next WhistleMania will be posted here when North Texas Soccer announces them.
