Rain- A little drizzle won’t stop us—if fields are safe, we play!
- Weekend fields checked by 8:00 AM.
- Weekday fields checked by 4:00 PM.
- If fields are closed, we’ll notify coaches via GroupMe, update the BAYFA website, and post on Facebook.
If you don’t see an update by those times, fields are OPEN.
Lightning & Thunder- Safety comes first. BAYFA uses the Perry Weather App to detect lightning.
- If lightning is within 10 miles, a siren sounds at Field 8 → everyone must head to cars for shelter.
- Play may resume 30 minutes after the last strike. Another siren alert will go off to end the 30 minute countdown.
- Coaches will be in contact with the BAYFA Board to decide if games are delayed, called early, or rescheduled.
You can track the 30-minute countdown on the Perry Weather display on our website.
Extreme Heat- We follow Wet Bulb Global Temperature (WBGT) Guidelines.
- WBGT readings are on our website via the Perry Weather display.
- Thankfully, it’s rare for WBGT to exceed 92.1 at practice time, but if it does, adjustments or cancellations will be made.
You can see the wbgt on our website here:
